POEM ... LOVE IS LOST

I WILL COME BACK FOR THEE

I have a heart that beats for two

Strong I am, handsome too

I like the beauty of the silver moon

Where my friends delight in flying naked

Amongst the star bright, lights with me.

I am in love with a friend indeed

To a pretty moth, by name of Mary 

With red petticoats that dazzle me

But I cannot remember where she be

I held her so tight, I could feel her heart

Drumming away in my hand

Love I thought…… it does beat for two

I am in love……

I am in love with

Her soft, silky wings

While in my ears I could hear the sounds

Of  angry little voices shouting at me

You Monster, you took her life

You are an evil beast …..

Then I laughed, and said, how can that be

I am in love with Mary and she with me

You’ve got it all wrong, I screamed

Our hearts beat as one, united we be

As I ran and danced with Mary

Held tightly in my hand

So I ran and hid, come what may

Sat down safe, by the village church

Blessed are those, who are in love

Blessed are those ,who actually care

Blessed am I, who am in love

I will live forever……….

I will live forever, with my Mary

And her soft silky wings.

Oh no you won’t, the voices cried

You Monster, you took her life

Then I laughed, and said, how can that be

So I showed them all, then and there

Opened my hand for all to see

How much my Mary does love me

But no sooner had I declared my love

When an axe took off my clenched hand

That was still holding Mary, so close to me

Mary………… I cried

As I ran towards the light of the silver moon.......
